If you already have homeowners insurance, contact your insurance company and see if there is personal property coverage (and how much it covers). Some homeowner policies can include a [sometimes optional] provision for storage units, as well. You may not need to purchase any additional insurance and/or it may be easy for your current policy provider to include personal property to the mix.
