It can often take Google a day or two to process the sitemap even after you’ve submitted it.

If the problem persists, you’ll want to make sure you’re not blocking Googlebot from accessing your site. (Generally through noindex meta tags or exclusion in your robots.txt file).

The sitemap validator link came back with no errors and from my own perspective all seems good, but still, I get this error when trying to submit it for a crawl.

Hey Yoana,

Once you remove a page from the sitemap, it should disappear from the sitemap file immediately. (You may have caching or something that may continue to show it until you clear your cache and/or a set amount of time expires).

Google crawls your site a specified amount each day based on the resources they devote to it — typically that is a few files in your sitemap each day (especially if you update certain posts and your homepage frequently).

Eventually a link (usually within a week or so) that was removed from a Sitemap will fall off Google’s index and no longer show in search results.

Hopefully that clears things up a little!

– I selected for each post/page if I want them to be indexed or not in the explained above way, but they didn’t disappear from my sitemap – does it take time the new info to be processed or did I do something wrong?
