There isn’t a way around it as far as I know. You do, however, get $25 for joining (it cost $25 to join), so your next dinner out is essentially on the house. Furthermore, you get an additional $25 during your birthday month. If you sign up immediately before your birthday month, you’ll get $50 to spend at an eligible establishment for just $25 (plus you earn 1 point per $1 you spend, which equates to about 10% off at one of over 600 popular joints).
